Late 169 brought home
this one is the later manual lift 169 late 1974 nice clean original 169 the owner had a hard time letting me leave with it I think he was having 2nd thoughts he said give it a good home which I said I will see to it that it gets one

The 169 is my #2 "dream" Cub GT! I would have had a hard time letting go too!
So... What's the scoop? What's the mechanical condition? Plans? Wanna trade a 1650 with a popped motor (busted crank and probably a broken oil dipper on the rod) for it? (Your 169 +$900 if you want the professionally rebuild K341AQS, with receipt, on a pallet to go with the 1650 and you bring your 169 to me... ) |

Wasn't the manual lift the early 169s as the company didn't have enough hydraulic lifts?

the late 169s did not have hyd lift they had the ported pump but it was plugged I also have the nos kit to put hyd lift on a 169 I also have the paper work telling the dealers to about the kit with a part no which now when I want it cant find

To funny... Just before I stopped here I glanced at the local Craigslist(Elmira, NY) and saw a 169 advertised for $800 with a manual lift which made me go since I didn't think they came that way. Come here and what do I see but another 169 with manual lift!
Learn something new everyday. |

Nice looking 169.How many hours are on the clock?
I picked up a 169 a couple months ago down at the scrapper very very cheap.Numbers are 2050048U523464 it has hydro lift and headlights. It runs very very well after replacing points,condenser and a chewed upon coil wire.It has 628 hours on the still working meter.The pump was thought to have gone bad but after further inspection I found a fairly big hole in the pickup tube and an empty tranny.I replaced the line and filled it up and I've been using it regularly to mow and plow with ever since. I threw some cheap paint on it to keep it from pitting and I plan to restore it after I get my 129 block and crank back from the machine shop.I had the crank balanced and the journal and rod ground for bearing inserts and the block bored .020.She was egged out and had a good bit of blow bye. |
