Default What might this tiller be.

I am looking at a tiller (hoping to find one for my 1872 w/3 pt hitch). Any idea what model it might be and what it fits. I failed to measure tiller width. The mounts are 12 in apart. The only numbers to be found are Mfg code, (no model number) 1B224B30117. It is belt drive but I don't know where the belt goes to. I only have front pto for beltsIMG_0438.jpg

Looks like a LT tiller. Whatever it is, it won't fit your 1872 with 3ph.

Do you have a rear PTO on your 1872? If not, your SOL on putting a tiller on it.

No, my 1872 does not. It was a tractor my Dad bought new in 1988, or 89. I just recently got it back in my hands and spruced it up a bit and made some needed repairsIMG_0335.jpg

Nice tractor!!

But if you don't have rear PTO then your pretty much SOL. You can possibly get the the later 800 tiller. It has its own engine, and is designed for use with 3ph. Problem is, it's narrower than your tractor. Sooooo..... sorry man.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
