She was able to get me a pic of the model tag.

It's a QA-42A

She's holding it for me until we can work out a time to pick it up. Hopefully someone doesn't sneak in before me.

Thanks everyone for the insight. Once I get it home I'll post up some pics, and I'm sure some questions....

You know how much location accounts for price. You don't get a lot of snow in your area, and shipping of that heavy/size of an item is sometimes cost prohibitive. If I was closer, I would have snatched it in a heartbeat!! The price was more than reasonable for it......just out of range.

vr4Legacy, if she said she would hold it for you, then just hope that she is a person of her word. With a 400+ ft. driveway, you'll get great use out of it!

Fortunately, my dad was able to swing by this past weekend and get it. He was coming my way for my son's birthday party (I can't believe I have a 5 year old ), so I have it in my possession

Here are a few pics. The auger is a bit rough, but it spins very smooth and other than the adjustment handle and lift rod, it appears to all be there. I asked about other attachments and all she had was a push blade, with no sub assembly. I told my dad to throw $20 at her for it.. she bit . Now I have 2 blades and 0 sub assemblies for my WFs lol.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
