Bagger for 44" deck

While out at my friend's cub graveyard I noticed he had a whole pile of new bagger parts, I guess he got several bagger setups when the dealer he was working for closed. The baggers are all cub but for unknown models and I was told I could dig through the pile and take any parts I think I might need for $20. I've been toying with the idea of adding a bagger to the 1211 but wasn't sure if it would work well with the 44" deck, not to worried about the $20 but don't want to waste my time if it's not going to work well. I'm just looking for some advice or opinions on this idea so I can decide if i want to proceed. Thanks

I don't see a bagger listed as an option for a 1211 but I do see a lawn sweeper listed. Might be a clue?

Baggers suck. Seriously. They only work well if your cutting 1 or 2 inches of grass in July when it's dry.. or on leaves. Otherwise they fill up quick, plug up the chute and are just a PITA.

My only experience with baggers..................

1641 w/46" deck. 1541 w44" deck.

For grass clippings, it worked really well and did a good job of leaving the yard clean looking. Leaves? If you have a small yard and few leaves to get up, a bagger can be a good thing. If you have a bigger yard with more leaves than a scattering, you'll spend more time hauling the leaves away and dumping them than you will picking them up. I had very little problem with the discharge plugging but I didn't try to bag any damp/wet stuff.

A bagger is no substitute for a vacuum/compactor. I still have two bagger systems to get rid of. I got lucky and sold the first two.

If its a 44a or 44c deck it will not work. You need a gt46 high vacuum deck. I, well, Nightow1 is working on getting mine set up on my 1450. Should have a few pix in a cpl days.

Baggers have their place, i personally like them. Especially when not attached to a push mower

Just to clarify, the 44" deck I mentioned above is not the same deck as a 44A or 44C. It is like a 46" GT deck and made for a bagger.

I have a 46GT and Triple Bagger on my 2182 and I have never had it clog up and works perfectly when cutting grass and picking up leaves etc. I personally love this set up. I've been using it for the last 1 1/2 years for mowing grass and fall cleanup and has never let me down. It really does work like a vacuum. Maybe it works better on SGT's with bigger engines? Don't know but I am all for the 46GT set up and I highly recommend it. Definitely not junk.
