Appears to be a "A" version based on the hitch. I am guessing 36". I may be wrong, but on a 42" you can almost always see 3 sections of flights on the auger, but I only see 2, which is more common to a 36". That is speculative though.... it may just be auger position.

That doesn't even make sense. It can't be one, if it is separate. Besides.... I'm well aware how they are made. There are 4 total flights, two per side.

I'm saying from my chair, it looks like a 36".

Why are you talking about the auger??? You posted pics of your machine. It is clearly a QA??A. Only thing you need to do is measure it to see how wide it is. Auger is the same for either... except one is 36" wide, and the other is 42".

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
