Default Hydraulic blade for a Cub Cadet

I have a chance to pick up a hydraulic blade for my 1450. Were they originally made with connections for these kind of attachments or was that a separate option? If they can be attached stock wise, where about would the lines hook up? I have never looked before, just figured this would be the easy way out.

cub14501650, the hydraulic 'power angle' plow is made to be used on a tractor with 'dual hydraulics'. Dual hydraulic or 'twin stick' tractors have quick connect couplers on the front of the tractor. They also have two levers, one to control the lift and one to control the angle.

Dual hydraulics were an option. You could add them, but it is kind of costly. I wouldn't add it to a 1450 just because of the work involved.

No simple solution for you other than to say the blade is useless until you have a tractor to put it on.

Thanks for your help guys. It's in nice shape, not a nice price, but I may buy it just to keep it until my estate sale.

The blade will work just fine on your tractor. You just won't be using the hydraulic function. You will have to add a stop to the blade to hold it at whatever angle works for your application.

Or he could just remove the cylinder and put a pin back in the original location. That would be easier than adding what it already has, wouldn't it?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
