$250.00 is a little high in my opinion, especially if the owner doesn't know what it is.

I too would focus on the "not running" situation (and that monster ass hole in the frame) check the clutch and pto to see if they look like they could be more dollars off the price.

Be sure to let him know that you intend to make it nice again and that it would cost you a bundle to get it the way you want it.

Good luck.

I would say such as a restorer as yourself, you would be able to fix it correctly top and bottom, but I think Alvy may want to just fix what you see, but knowing it is not done correctly will make him not sleep at night.

Hehe
I would only fix what can be seen and never give the underside a second thought, if anybody's looking at it that close they are gonna get ran over.

I agree with Mark. I would probably be in around $150-$200, but I would sure hold off for a very long time to put two Franks down for it.

EDIT: I just noticed the cig lighter on it. Ok, two Franks to "toke on the go"!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
