The best I could do is this. "Assuming" you have a Kohler K241-46700 engine, you will need:
(A) 237277-S Stud (which is NLA, only used and NOS can be found) (B) X-400-71-S------> 25-112-14-S Spacer The part numbers did not give any specifications as to dimensions.

I tried looking it up also, with the same result.
Here's the deal, lay the head on the motor and stick something down the hole to get a measurement. Studs are easy to get. McMaster Carr carries those. If you are going to make your own spacer, you only need room enough to clear the fins. As I recall, there is only one nut. You cold also just do all bolts. Studs aren't necessary. |

My Auction 100 needed a head gasket. It was a high boss head. I replace the head with a low boss head. I used these spacers:
The one on the left was used as a washer between the head of the bolt and the top of the air shield. The one on the right was used as a spacer between the head and the bottom of the air shield. I found a something that will work on McMaster-Carr website: Thin washer-93320A300 Thick spacer-92415A129 I added another flat washer between the top of the spacer and the bottom of the air shield. The McMaster-Carr spacer are .625 thick. They should have been .688 thick.

I would change all the studs over to bolts. You can use grade 8 bolts or Kohler bolts. Both of my 100s are just bolts holding the head on.

So how is your fuel tank mounted?

Probably just with the bolts. I think that's how we did the 126 of yours. (Or was it the 106?)

Using bolts. There should be 3 head bolts and two 1/4 inch studs on the fan shroud that holds the fuel tank mounting bracket on.
I would be afraid studs could be too long unless you modify the studs.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
