Default No. 2 Cart

I picked this cart up this past weekend. The gentleman is selling out as he is sick. He had 23 Cubs and numerous attachments for sale. By the time I heard about it and got there he didn't have a lot left. This cart and a 125, 149, 582. I think I am only missing the bracket that the engine mounts to the tractor with. I have the canvas but is not pictured.

Wow that's interesting Martin. I actually made a number 2 cart into a leaf collection cart this summer and adapted my peco motor and vac to it. It will actually hold quite a bit but I found out something. The number 2 is low to the ground so when you dump the clippings the angle is not enough for them to exit so you have to haul them out by hand when dumped. Yours is cool, id like to see the canvas installed. Good score

Hence why I think a #2 cart is next to useless and don't understand why they demand such a high price and why people love 'em so much. HOWEVER, they are better than a wheelbarrow/carrying it by hand and good for kids rides.

I agree I only grabbed it because it was close by and the price was right.

The #1 cart is no better when dumping, still have to pull it all out by hand. All that being said, I'd still take a #2 cart with collection system like you got Martin. Great find!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
