Havent had a chance to look it over yet, plus I didnt know there was options. I should be able to check it over this week, at least find out if it will run or just be a parts donor. Either way the plan is to get one of them mowing and keep the other for parts, and of course continue to search for another one that has the D*** Grill

Well the wiring is a complete mess, most of it left hanging with the ends cut off, starter and regulator are missing so I pulled them off the other tractor and had it turning over last night, dont hear any ugly noises, the gearbox and clutch appear to be in working order. Be nice if all it needs is rewiring

Ok so the PTO and mower deck are both working but the deck appears to be missing guards on the front and left side, and the rear guard is bent all to H***... and no right side deflector either.

anyone happen to have pics that show the guards well??? or measurements maybe? Im guessing they are probably at least 10gauge steel. I'll get some pics of the deck tomorrow to show what I have to work with.

Thx John, I sent him an email to check on a grill. For these mower guards I can make those. Forgot to grab pics today.

So that guy wants 220 for a new grill shell and 40 for a used mesh insert... not bad if our lousy loonie comes up a bit but I'll keep looking for another parts tractor for now.

I think the deck might be warped a bit but I am a metal worker so thats just a minor pita, I can fix that, can make the whole top from scratch if I had to. Main thing is everything functions freely.

Swapped over the rad and adjusted the clutch brake yesterday, then dragged the harrows around on the driveway to loosen up the gravel so its a working tractor now. I think what I will do is use #2 tractor as a temporary test bed to get everything functional and then start restoration on #1 tractor.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
