Haven't done much to the original lately. But I did get a care package yesterday with some needed parts to help the face lift along.
NOS muffler, original refurbished steering wheel that looks real nice. A few fresh zinc coated IH bolts, and NOS IH battery hold down bolts.
Thanks, you know who you are.

Where did you find the refurbished steering wheel? Or can you tell me who does this?

Sorry for the delay getting back to your question on the steering wheel. I got it from a buddy of mine who had it restored. I have no idea who did it for him, but I'll check and let you know.
I got the axle tubes fixed and new bearings installed. If you remember the tubes were egg shaped from years of wear and neglect to the bearings. I filled the gap with JB Weld around the bearing. Hoping this holds up.
I also got the new piston and rings installed and the block cleaned up and painted. Tins are done to Painting everything with the IH Federal Yellow this time around.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
