Exactly! Treat it better than the manual suggest and it should serve you well hopefully for many years. Try pulling stumps with it or other hardcore duties and you will be SOL.

Enjoy your new cub! As long as it does what you need it to do, that's all that matters.

In Canada they sell the XT1 LT46 with a single cylinder 19hp Kohler Courage OHV engine and a Tuff Torq K46,
the cheapest duo who "Grenade" itself before 500hr or less. (Some even crap out at 250hr) In USA the same tractor came with a 22 HP Kohler 7000 Series V-Twin OHV engine for those who don't know the 7000 series design is based on the KOHLER Command engine not the Courage but they still come with the crappy Tuff Torq K46. 3 recommendations I hope the OP take seriously. 1- NEVER EVER overheat that tranny.(About 1hr of work on a very hot day) 2- Don't tow anything heavy (Let's say 200lbs max) 3- Make lot of research about the K46 tranny mod(Changing the oil every 100hrs is what you want) Now for belt alignment and all deck relate problems your on you own and since you like "wrenching" I bet after few swears session you get use to it.

Yeah its just going to get used to mow my yard, and occasionally my neighbors yard, he is bad at not mowing and hes got a big area right in front of our house across the street that we gotta look at and i hate when it gets tall and he doesnt mow it lol.
I may get a small cart for picking up sticks to pull behind it, beats dragging the wheel barrow around the yard. Right now i just had a few yrds of black dirt delivered that im filling in some holes and leveling off some bad areas of the yard. Then gonna do some more grass seed. Not sure if im liking the floating deck or not. It doesnt seem to like unlevel areas, or im doing something wrong. Scalped the grass and ground in a few spots. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
