I have a chance to get a running 100, with running mower deck. I hear the clutch is worn, and not moving. I have known the owners for a good time, so its all original except for the seat. I would expect to pay 225-300 tops. Cash determinds. I didnot want to thread in the "for sale" thread due to lack of intrest. I would cold-heartly "swoop" the tractor mower up if not in need of a creeper gear. Anyways, general talk. Thanks, John
When I used it to mow with, I reasond that this tractor was much faster than my 71 in all gears. Just putting a word out. ....well, I have the model 100's S/G. . The 100 has my model 72 S/G. The 100 S/G pully split, so in a pinch loaned mine. You may think I can see the serial#, but I dont. ...no rear fenders, gum-dip rear, narrow front. Tight L front spindel. About what you expect from a Cub Cadet.

I just might. I know the owner will let me make payments. I better get over there and look it some more. I would fix'er up to sell, or trade for parts that I need, or keep it. I cant get carried away with these tractors, but Iam thinking hard!

It maybe tuff for me to afford right now. I'am thinking I'll take a real hard look at it. To tell the truth,........if I were going to get it, the 100 would be come a great parts tractor/back up mower-ready. I just cant let it slip through my hands. I could have it home in the wink of a eye. I so...... hate to have it as a parts tractor. I would rather turn it in to something CC that I would need more. Guess I will be taking a harder look at getting it, and going from there.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
