Yep they do! Mine is running on my 1650 since December 2015...

I ordered mine on 08/27/17 and FedEx delivered it today. 12 days and $44.00 to my door, not too shabby. I'll get some pics and update how it works in my 982.

Ordered mine last week when i posted. still have yet to see it. Any chance you know what to set the dip switches to? I wonder if you can set them to run off of starter gen engines using the coil. similar to how Kirk Engines tachs work.

When the magnet aligns with the coil, you get 1 positive pulse, although it took 2 magnetic poles to do it, those engines produced 9 pulses per rotation of the flywheel, I just wish the internal potentiometer give you enough range to compensate for the missing pulse.

It was not the case with my 1650 tachometer but I already knew that and after I take a good look at the diagram I substitute one resistor
for a 10 turn 1/4W potentiometer, now it's accurate but who really need a RPM on a garden tractor? For what purpose? For me it's was just a fun totally useless project but it may look cool on my walk behind snow blower.

A simple rule...Keep the gauges and diagnostic tools on the bench or in the toolbox. For mowing and snow blowing a good beer holder is all you need
