My first Estate tag sale find
My friend called and said there's an estate tag sale just down the road from him that has a 102 cub cadet with a front blade and something on the back. said it did not sale the first day so it would be 30% off on sat. He knew i wanted a front scraper blade and he just wanted the tractor and mowing deck. I said we would split it and i would take the blade what ever was on the back. We knew the price would be reduced to $280 so we were there early, first in line to get ticket #1. So we bought it, split it at $140 each. After looking it up. I'm pretty sure the thing on the back is a Gannon Earthcavator. Thing is some kind of heavy. I see why the tractor had the brinly helper lift spring on it. I think we did pretty good. Cleand the carb. on the 102 for him and its running good.

Awesome find! The Gannon's usually bring around $300-$400 alone, you did well.

Excellent job!! Way to work with a friend. After you use the Earthcavator, you will know why it is so heavy! Great score.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
