Get a job.... 14yr Olds can work as far as I know.
Mow yards, do odd jobs, work on the farm. I had money when I was 14. Actually I probably had more money when I was 14 than I do now, lol. But I worked for it. |

When I was 13 A neighbor of ours became paralyzed waist down and loss some use in hands and arms. He asked me if I could use his tractor and cut his grass. Told him sure.. No problem. When I was done he handed me 5 bucks and told me if cut the lawn the rest of the summer I could have the tractor and the following year he would get a service to cut. I agreed and took the tractor home. I picked up 4 or 5 more lawns and did pretty well with it. The guy that gave me the tractor insisted I still take 5 bucks every time I cut to pay for the gas.. I tried to not take it but he always made me.

Here in PA you have to be 16 and get working papers from school, at least that's how it was when I was younger. Obviously he could still work for cash if he can find someone willing to do it, hard to find work like that these days due to liability and everybody wanting to sue.

Surely you don't need the schools "permission" to get a summer job.... What a screwed up world the liberal lunatics have created!! |

Not sure about summer but I know you have to have them during the school year. It's just like playing sports, if your grades aren't good then you can't play, same thing with having a job.

Our school only requires this if the kid wants out of school early. Like he’s got last period study hall, and could be at the job sooner.

Lots of state laws nowadays. I was running farm tractors for my uncle at the ripe old age of 11. I think the only 11 year olds I could employ would have to be my own. At certain ages they can do certain tasks. Working with livestock and running powered equipment, climbing ladders, I think you have to be 16. There may even be restrictions here on your own kids, but I'm not certain. Don't know how many hours a day they can work either, we did about 11-12 with a 1/2 hr for lunch. And I was glad to get that $3 an hr.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
