Nice collet chuck Jeff. I'd like to pick up a full set of 5C collets for my Hardinge lathe some day.

5C has the advantage with short pieces over the rubber flex collets but those eleven collets will hold anything round between 1/16" to 1-3/8"

Haven't seen one of those since I was in school, we had them on hydroshift Leblonds. We use lever type 5C at work due to speed. I wish I had a collet set for my lathe.

Just picked up a Famco No 3 arbor press.

I will shorten the handle and remove the handle rest. Nice to see no hammer marks on the top of the ram where somebody would have "helped" it.

That's a really nice looking press. Old tools are always a joy to work with especially when they're in as nice condition as that one.

Look in good shape, I like hunting for UK, USA and Canada vintage cast iron tool like C-Clamp and vise, the quality of craftsmanship is simply amazing compare to China chicken poop casting they sell us today.

The older stuff seems to made with a higher quality.

When companies had pride in what they offered instead of just a profit.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
