Question for someone good with gears/ratios
I've been browsing around online and through craigslist, ebay, etc. Through all this, I got the idea to put my QA-42A on my 1864. I found a post on Craigslist who had a QA-42A listed for models up to 1863. Now, when I think about it, all signs point to this will work, however; I don't know what size pulley I'd need on my 1864 to achieve the correct speed on the thrower. Can anyone who's more versed than I figure out what size pulley I'd need on the thrower? I figure it's worth a shot!

I don't know the pulley sizes off the top of my head. If you go to here, you can put in the correct tractor/qa42a pulley sizes and input rpm(3600). Take note of the output rpm, change the powered pulley to the 1864 size and play around with the driven pulley size till you match the noted output rpm. I like that calculator because it works with belts and chains.

I saw that ad too Ryan but I think the taller front end on the newer tractors is going to throw off the way the thrower sits......ie I think its going to be tilted up/backwards toward the tractor. I'm not sure what you'd need to do to get it to sit right.
