It's probably this one.
https://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/gr...617566604.html If that is it then I think the price is a bit steep given it's condition. I've bought and sold a lot of Cub's and it's always tough to sell ugly ones.

Tim, now the OP said it was bought at auction. Then you post up a c-list ad that turns out to be the very tractor he bought. Now how the hell did you come up with that????
Yeah.... someone was messing with that filter housing. Still looks to me like they were trying to feed the crankcase vent into the carb. Absolutely no idea why..... and I would definitely get another air filter lid. |

At least I get to steal some parts, the front spindle, the float button for the lift, the rim with 2 original not-aftermarket bearings, etc. I ended up pulling the right front tire off and throwing it on the 1250. the rim off the 1250 has one aftermarket bearing which is smaller than the original one and ends up falling out, and the other original bearing has the center part blown out. Tire was riding right on the spindle, so now that's ruined. Tire I threw on the 1250 also looks about 3 minutes away from death. |

Here's some perspective as to how bad the 1250 spindle is:
The front tires are supposed to be slanted; angled out on top, the 1250 tire and spindle were straight. Tire is able to move a good bit, and even loosened the bolt that keeps the tire on. |

So, you are using it for parts?
This story keeps changing.... I now realize it is you selling it as it was posted 4 hours ago. Yeah.... I agree, price is steep. So you bought if for $120, took some parts off it, did nothing to it, now trying to sell it for $400??? This is why I get frustrated with people on here. If you want to make money, you are going to have to do a little work to it at least. I figured out what the tube on the air filter likely is.... it's for using starting aid. |

The only parts I've removed are the front spindle+tire, and I'm going to take the float button. Every part is simply being swapped from the 1250. Well, I've done some work already, I've drained the fuel system to give it some good fuel. Other than that, not really much I can do. Not really much else the tractor needs. I'm going to wait a few days before bringing down the price to 350$, and after another 4 or 5 days lower it to 300$. If I go lower than that there is absolutely 0 chance of finding a 104 or 124 lower than 300$ because everyone thinks the Cub cadet name adds 150$ to the price. MIght be able to get a 1020 for that much, but I want a Garden tractor. |

Listen kid, you can't take good parts off the 108, replace them with cappy parts from the 1250 and ADD value to the 108. In your ad on c-list, you say it needs a battery, and you don't know if the PTO works and the clutch rattles. Remember the thread you were griping in the other day about c-list sellers?? YOU'RE ONE OF THEM!!

Yeah, you're right about that. Difference is I'm trying to get money to get and fix up another tractor and they're generally just trying to make a quick buck for *other* things.
It's a crappy tractor. Cheap paint that's already filthy, battery needs charged, PTO actually does work, clutch PIN rattles because hole is ovaled out, wrong seat, pretty crap everywhere else. Plus I'm (almost) not blatantly lying about the tractor's condition. Person: "Yeah, it runs." When it doesn't even turn over because it's locked up: Person: "Oh, the battery must be dead." Could be claiming it's a pulling tractor trying to make 1500$! |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
