Did you check your relief valves? There is an access panel on the side to check them. You might spray some PB blaster with the nozzle on them to see if it frees them up a little and hopefully solves your problem. I would have suspected the spiral pin, too, but since you say that looks great, the relief valves would be my next area to look at.

Default canfield

I live in Canfield, Ohio. It's near Youngstown. The pins all look good so far. It acts like it isn't getting enough fluid. How do I get the correct hydro fluid filter number? I am wondering if the guy at the parts store gave me the wrong filter. It was a bit sloppy, but worked before I changed the filter and fluid, then worked a bit and started giving me problems.

Are the relief valves the bolt head looking things with the nipples in the middle that move?

Yes.

Filter is a Wix 51410, Napa 1410, or you can go to CCC and get one.

Default Bottom end

If I drain the fuel and oil, can I tip the tractor up vertical on the rear tires to gain access to the underside and check the rear of the shaft? I'm disabled and its really hard to crawl under things to work on them. Also, where can I get a good Hydro diagram for the 127? I have a diagram for about everything but that. Thank you all for your help.

As long as you're under half a tank of fuel it won't leak when you stand it up. Unless you're planning to keep it standing up for an extended period of time I wouldn't worry about draining the oil.

What do you mean by diagram? A parts blowout? Or a hydraulic diagram? Or a service manual?? Not sure what kind of diagram you are needing....

Todd..... I had forgotten about that deal on your 125. Made me laugh again. Not at your expense, but remembering back how much time and effort went into diagnosing it.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
