Not painted yet as I am enjoying using the tractor to much. Maybe some time this coming week after I mow again. First thing I have to do is work in the combine to get it ready to harvest wheat. We need to rebuild the cutter bar. Later Tom |

Just a quick update on the 2882 project. I have not had time to paint the deck yet and will probably wait until winter. Still trying to get wheat harvested between the rains. We have had over eight inches of rain in the last two weeks. One thing for sure the grass is growing like crazy. I still cannot believe how nice this thing drives and the power that the EFI 28 hp Command has. The fuel economy is fantastic. Using the same mower deck on my other 1872 with the 23 hp Command it took about 3.5 gal of gas to mow my yards. I now can get it all done using about 2.2 gal. I did not build it just to save fuel but it is a plus. have a good one.

Well, that's all good Tom. Saving money is always good, especially on fuel.

Just an up date. Yes it is a sweet running machine. The wife mowed with it during fall harvest and she could not believe how much nicer it was than my other 1872 using the same 60 inch deck. She said it is like a Cadillac. I mowed with it all season and the only thing I had to work on was the mower deck. I was running the old belt that was three years old and it finally gave out. I was hoping to paint the deck this winter but I have some other projects that I need to do so we shall see if I get time. I do not regret spending the time and Money to do the rebuild/upgrade. I like the Cyclops fuel tank fender upgrade so much that I have bought parts to do the same to the 782. The only other thing I would like to change is some how adding a tilt wheel, One of these days if I get some free time I will look into it again.
Hope you all have a good one Tom IMG_20170614_162243.jpg |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
