I wasn't sure what to expect but it pulled it quite well. I do need to pick up a couple weights to throw on the front as the front gets a little light in the harder areas.

Got a couple hours of seat time yesterday on the 2264, grass finally dried up enough to mow.

I fell into a cyclops this winter that more or less came with the house we bought. We came from a postage stamp development lot where I used a push reel mower. We now have 6+ acres with about half of it mowed. I new the tractor needed some TLC, but every time I touched the machine a new problem seemed to appear. This site has helped immensely and I've read many of the threads and walk-thrus. Thank you all.
Although I was working on fixes with all my free time, the grass was just growing faster than I could solve issues. So, we broke down and got another mower yesterday. Today I needed to mow before the next few days of rain, but it had sprinkled in the morning. I have a nice new shiny mower in the garage, but I couldn't bear the thought of a maiden voyage in wet grass. So, I fired up the 1440 and went at it. As I mowed, the new deck belt and spindles worked freely, I had no fuel supply issues, and the charging system seemed to function the entire time. All of that is thanks to the info on this site. At the risk of jinxing any good juju... today I took my cub out to mow and it ran the best it has since I've owned it. I mowed for 2 hours with no issues. This is the first time I've felt confident that she's still got life left in her! Next up is Sam's rear end work, probably over the winter - drilling holes in the axle tubes and maybe getting some braces. Thanks again fellas! |

^^^^^ Well now you can put the new one out by the road with a FOR SALE sign on it, seeing the 1440 is working good.

I should have done some mowing today with the 1864, but I felt more like smoking some pork and drinking beer with my sidekick. So I did nothing with my Cub today, and had a good time doing it!

Was able to finish the lawn tonight with the 2284 after being rained off for the last two days. Crossed 800 hours while doing so.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
