Default #1 Tiller pulleys

hey guys, New here ive been a reader / lurker for awhile when ive needed help working on my 128 and 149. finally went and joined.

So I have a 149 and a #1 tiller with extensions i bought a couple years ago. Someone welded the large pulley on top around for some reason at some point in time (assuming they tried to remove it without puller and broke it) it was working but the pulley had a wobble. Well the other day i was tilling the garden it ended up splitting the smaller pulley in half. Question is where can i find these 2 pulleys? Ive searched ebay and that without much luck. Are there replacements out there for these? Part # ? Anyone have a good used set they would sell.

Any help would be much appreciated. Hoping to have the garden in before end of the month.

Thanks

See the thread below. Follow Sam Mac's link and you should be able to find the pulleys you seek. Just take measurements of the ones you have and order accordingly. I know for sure the large pulley can be found there. If your pulleys are tore up too much, I can measure the ones on my #2 tiller when I get home and let you know what size you should look for.

Bores ae 3/4" on both gear box pulleys as well as the big cast iron one. Jeff can make new shafts for the gear box if needed as well.

sir_lancealot if you get a chance can you send me a measurement on the small pulley? That way im sure to get the right size. no rush whenever you get time. My pulley is pretty warped and split clean in half all the way around, came off in 2 peices.

Thanks

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
