Thanks for all the replies and pictures guys. I THINK I have what it takes to mount one of these on the 124. I'll have to remove the homemade belly mounted blade from it. Hopefully the other can be rigged up on the 782.

Out of curiosity, how bad does the weight of the blade effect the steering?
Also, if just moving a little bit of dirt and gravel, how bad is traction? Would weighted turfs on a 782 do OK?

Depends on the tires, I’d say, but I’d say it’s noticeable but not horrible. Nothing like hanging a blower out there, but it’s certainly noticeable when you remove it. Biggest PITA is having to account for the extra length/radius when turning.

I don’t think you’ll need to make drastic changes to move a bit of dirt or rock. Don’t expect to be operating a road grader and it’ll do fine. I’ve pushed a little bit here and there with my unweighted 125 with turfs and it’s....usable but you can’t push a whole lot. It does work great for pushing leaf piles around though!

Yep correct me if I'm wrong but it was advertised as a light dozer blade.

Over the years I've spread plenty of gravel and 5 yards of topsoil. Most recently I filled back in my neighbors 200' x 4"drainage trench to keep his yard dry. Without weights or ag tires. Maybe chains if I didn't remove from previous snow duty.

OK, thought I had what I needed to put a blade on my 124, evidently not. What does this frame fit? Can I easily modify it for a 124 or should I find another frame? Apparently the other blade setup is all there for the wide frame setup--may try it on the 782, believe I need an adapter for the lift rod? Really want to get one of these on the 124. So anybody have a frame to fit it and if so will it work with the blade I that fits this one? PM me if you have one.

That's the right one for a 124 John. Looks like maybe a factory oops. The pins should both face inside.

Hopefully you are correct. I took another look today. Looks like the one pin was cut loose and turned around. Shouldn't be too hard to fix, just got to get off all the weld on the other side, maybe make a new pin since this one has already been welded twice. Looks like the frame will have about 3/4-to 1 inch of clearance once it is mounted to the tractor.

Cut off the backwards pin. Now I have more questions. When I try to slide the sub frame over the rod on the tractor, not certain where it is supposed to go. One arm had been bent in so I straightened it. That set the width about the same as the tractor frame. The only place it lined up was directly under the tractor frame and it didn't want to go on--appeared to be hitting the frame. I was able to pull it apart to go outside the frame and the mounting brackets for the foot rest/mower lift rod. Now the front of the sub frame is about an inch wider than the tractor, nothing appears bent on that end. Note, the pic showing where I mounted the sub frame to the rod shows another bracket behind it, that was a PO mod for something else. Thoughts?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
