Default 44A Mule Drive Tension Release Handle
My mule drive never came with the tension release handle. I've been running fine without it by making it common sense tight, but for fun I thought I would look up the spec for tensioning. The manual states 3-1/2" between the pulley bolt and mule drive on 38" decks with a coil spring tensioner. It says to use the notches in the tension arm for 44" and 50" decks. Can I use the same 3-1/2" spec for the torsion spring tensioner? Does someone have a tensioner arm lying around they can measure the notches and cut out for me so I can make one?

As long as your pulley's are even with each other it should be fine, till you get
the part you need.

My 1200 with 44A deck just has a J- bolt for adjustment. Never had the tension release handle.

April 1979 1200 Quietline 44A deck 1988 1211 customized into a 1288 with a K301AQS 38C deck and a 1864 54” deck . Snow blades 42" and 54" . Brinly disk, brinly plow a cultivator and a $5 brinly yard rake!
