Default Another oil seal...

Well Charles, didn't want you to be the only one with a seal leak.
Nancy finished up the sweeping today, pulled the 782 into the shop, and it was dripping.
So took a quick look see, and shure as chit, leaking seal. Doesn't show in the picture well, but the engine plate is covered in oil. Oh well, they break, we fix. They ain't new anymore...
This one's going behind the 2372, so it'll be awhile before the engine pull, and repair begins.

Yep Todd... that pretty much stinks.. happens to all of us though

Yep, must be something in the air. I am currently tearing down the 1912 to get to the seal.

I am also tearing down my new 1863 engine and found it stuffed full of chicken feathers. Maybe it was trying to keep warm? Anyway I pulled the flywheel off and guess what... the seal was hanging there loose.

I had a leaky seal on my K-301 in my 125 last fall. Start it up, pull it out of the shed,close the door and when I turn around, it's smoking worse than a mosquito fogger.

Seal behind the PTO pushed out and was spraying a liberal amount of oil on the muffler.

It's not that difficult of a fix other than the amount of disassembly to get to it.

I have a basket pulley puller I bought from some guy in Pa, if you need to borrow it?

Yup, must be something going round.
It's getting harder for me every year working on these things, but it's part of the "game" I suppose. Seems like everything is harder, and takes longer than it used too. EVERYTHING
