Default Cub Cadet 101?

Was there ever a Cub Cadet 101? The instruction sheet I have for a NF windbreaker has the "101" listed as a model. Or was this just a planned model that never made it to production? I haven't seen it listed anywhere else as a model.

No model 101, probably just a typo by the person making the instructions.

The 101 was a hydro tractor in pre production.

Thanks. That would be an interesting tractor to see, if they had some mock-ups done. Stuffing a sundstrand pump into a low tunnel would have presented a few problems. I do recall seeing a picture of what looked like an Original frame with a hydro, that was at the top of the OCC page a while back. Would that have been a pre-production mock up of the 101?

No, that was the tractor that an engineer for Sundstrand used to install a hydro in and pitch to IH to get them to install and use Sundstrand hydros. I believe he used a 102/122 but don't recall.

IH made a 101 combine.....

It was put in like a m&w 9speed.
I don’t think this was the 101 that you guys are talking about.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
