KT/Magnum fuel pump
Need a new fuel pump for my 782 spray tractor. Price on these things are all over the place--and that's for aftermarket. I bought one from an Ebay seller last spring (The Mans Shop--or something like that). Its in the $50 range. Ran it all summer on the M18 in the 1811 with no problems. Lots of sellers on ebay with what appears to be the same pump kit starting around $20. Only difference I see is some have brown O-rings, others have grey. According to the seller I bought from last spring, he gets the pumps from the same factory as Kohler. What have you guys been buying lately? I hate to be so cheap, but I just dropped a small fortune on 2284 parts last night.
Whats your thoughts gang?

I bought a cheap one for my M18 without knowing any better. It came with several fittings of different sizes and angles. It installed easily and doesn't leak but I only have 30 minutes of run time so far.
Prime Line 7-08016 Fuel Pump from eBay for $28.00

As a note, I will say, I have installed the Prime Line fuel pump on customer machines before. As far as I know, no issues. I know I used to use Stens, and I didn't have good luck with them. On my 1811, I've only had to replace the pump one time. Put a Kohler one on it......13 or so years and around 800 hours ago. Still working fine. I'm not opposed to aftermarket stuff. Just haven't had very good luck with fuel pumps in the past. Lots more choices now than there was a few years ago though.

You got many machine to take care of John, if this is not a everyday horse I say "Roll the dices" and go with the aftermarket one. I got 2 Magnum with aftermarket one and so far they start and purr like a kitten.

I agree if it fails prematurely...chalk it up to another learning experience!

I've had good luck with the Prime Line pump.. But I only run 100 percent gasoline.. no ethanol or even 10 percent ethanol for me.. we tried that for a few years.. everything we had with a carburetor gave issues.. swapped back to the non ethanol fuel and no problems since..

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
