LT1050 fuel problem:
Having trouble pulling fuel from the tank to the filter. New filter and fuel pump. I can take the filter off the line from the tank, put a piece of fuel hose on it and put it my gas can and it will pump fuel. But when I hook the filter back up to the line coming from the tank, it will not pull fuel. I blowed air back thru the line to the tank and I can hear it moving the gas around. Their is a 1/4 tank of fuel. Any ideas/suggestion on what the problem might be, will be greatly appreicated.

Don, dumb question but is the filter installed the correct way? Most have a directional arrow on them or say "flow" with an arrow. Does yours?

Have you checked the filter for obstruction? Seems like the most obvious of problems. Just because it's new doesn't mean it isn't defective.

I pulled the filter off the line from the tank and put a piece of line on it and stuck in my 5 gallon fuel can. It pulled fuel just fine. Engine fired up and ran just fine. So I do not think it is the filter.

Well, then the fitting in the tank must be plugged. Take it out and inspect it.

Leave the filter installed and see if it will pull from the "gas can".

I agree but don’t try to clean it up just replace it. They are cheap.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
