Why not just rebuild the one you have?

Well, the throttle shaft is extremely loose, the throttle plate has come loose and the tiny screws stripped so I tried to fix it with Lock-Tite and it doesn't really fit very good anymore, the threads are stripping where the air cleaner housing mounts, and I figured that it might be not worth it given the age of the carb. Can all that be rebuilt?

Knock offs on ebay seem to work ok. Several have tried them and reports were positive.

I bought one from Ebay for a K321 and it's working fine. The only problem is the choke bracket didn't fit. I had to change it to the original.

Yes, that can all be rebuilt. I am not 100% sure on where to get all the parts, but I can find out if you want to go that route.

I got one for my Gravely (K181) and my 122. My 122 was missing a carb when I got it, so it was the only route. Works well so far. The one on the Gravely worked great out of the box, but after a week or two the float got fuel in it (they're plastic). I just swapped out the brass float from the old Gravely carb and it works great now too. My 149, and 1650 had solid carbs on them, so I just rebuilt those.

For $15, you can't beat them. And if you have a brass float in your current carb, I'd just swap that out before you install.

Thanks for the replies. I ordered one online. I'm going to research about fixing the old one. If it can be fixed, I'll have it to fall back on if the "cheap" one fails.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
