I agree Lou, and it's not like all those extras cannot be used on/behind/with a different model Cub.

Tillers are certainly nice to have and use. However, in north east Ohio tillers are plentiful and the prices widely vary especially in the spring. Many sell for about $150-$200.
I agree! The OP was asking for input regarding this tractor and deal. Several have shared their thoughts and opinions. Ultimately, it his decision. What ever price he and the seller agree upon will be within his comfort level. I wish him well on his new Cub Cadet adventure! It is a hobby it is a blast....and addicting too!

800-900 would be ok I would say. Like delta said tillers are a dime a dozen around me, discs are not. Just pay the guy and get started on your hobby.

And if the tillers turn out to be junk, which I'm sure some of the dime a dozen units probably are, it will cost a bunch to go through one, especially if you have to start replacing bearings, tines and chains.
A good bargaining point would be to be ask that guy if he has the guard for the big pulley, the mule drive and all the belts. A $100 tiller can quickly turn into a $400 + unit when you start replacing parts +belts. |

Pricing for the subject must also take into account what you can find in the upper midwest for sale versus what you find for sale in South Carolina.
Or the southeast for that matter. We just do not see much of the vintage CC stuff down here like you guys do up there. |

You guys gotta remember where he is from. Not everyone lives were cubs are a dime a dozen! Its pretty hard finding decent deals where I live.

If Cubs we're as cheap here as some of you are privilege to I'd have about 150 of them. But the ones around are like 129s and 1250s. People want$1,000 for them and rough shape and that's pretty much it. Finding anything else like a 982, 782, 582 or a 149 or anything cool like that just doesn't come up and when it does it's super expensive. That combination of equipment and tractor would be at least 1200 here. Come on, hydraulic lift 122

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
