Kwik way loader.
I thought I would start a new thread on this project, here's the pics you've all been asking for. Overall it's in great shape, the wear edge on the bucket looks like new so I doubt it's seen much abuse. I don't believe this loader was originally made for a Cub, the spool valve is on the wrong side( which I will be fixing ) and the subframe was welded onto the other tractor so I'm going to need to make some brackets. After closer inspection this morning it turns out that curl cylinders are in better shape than I thought, the rust you see is all the further in the cylinders go and when I pulled them out they're actually in decent shape.

Pic of a cylinder after 10 seconds with some emory cloth. The pits can barely be felt with a finger nail and I received a tip from another member on how to repair the pits to save from having the rods re-chromed so I will give that a try since I don't have that kind of coin right now.

Tim, the spool valve on my Kwik-Way is on the left side. It was on a 1650 so that is why, opposite the hydro shifter lever. I have seen that loader set up either way. If I had it on a gear drive or a 1X8-9 tractor I would want it on the right side. If you need any pictures of the loader mounts let me know and I will send you some.

Tim, I have one of those loaders too. I'll see if I can dig up some pics too. Those are nice loaders with the self leveling bucket design.

Good luck on the project Tim.
I'd put a single stick valve on it. You can't do anything to repair the pits on the chrome. It may or may not eat the seals right out of it, but it will eventually eat them up. There is a company in Terre Haute, Indiana that can make new chrome rods. (Or a whole new cylinder if need be.) No idea the cost. Last I checked, it was cheaper to have a new rod made than to rechrome an old one. |

For right now I'm just gonna clean the rams up and hope they don't leak to bad, I have plenty of projects I need it for so I wanna get it done and on the 108 asap.

Can I assume that since I've seen this loader with the spool valve on either side that the tower on the right is also fluid tight and can be used as a reservoir? I thought about switching the towers from side to side but it would require alot of cutting and welding to move all the brackets around. I'd like to add a filter to this also, anybody add one and have pics?

Good looking loader, Tim! Glad someone got it who will take care of it and use it. I've thought it would be nice to have one, but I don't really want to put on one a narrow frame. Maybe one day I'll get a larger tractor and have a loader.
