Default Finally got the 782D ready to cut

Hello again it’s been awhile. Traded for the 782d over a yr ago. It’s been sitting in a pasture for years. Hour meter had 279 hrs on it. Got it home tore it down and did everything I read to it. From starter upgrade to all new deck parts. Will post pics soon. Deck works great (44c) would not have got this done without y’all. Snowing like crazy in Columbia Miss.

Default 782d

Finally got the 782d ready for duty. I have had it a little over a year and has been a great project. Put all new parts on the deck this week and works great. The tractor set in a pasture for years so I went through everything I saw suggested on this site. Starter upgrade, new glow plugs, all new fuel lines and filters took fuel tank off. Some new wiring and fixed hydro leaks. Hour meter showed 279 hrs. not sure if correct but the original air filter was still in it. Snowing in Columbia Ms.

To be ready you need another kind of implement for the white stuff!

Joke aside...Look like you got the job done Now let's turn around that picture before someone broke his neck.

I'll be rebuilding my 44C this winter but I'm having trouble getting the blade nuts loose. I just bought a 3/4" drive breaker bar but I havn't tried it yet. I'll probably need heat to loosen them. One of my spindles is worn for sure so I'll be getting a replacement. If you have any tips for the rebuild please share them.

Welcome!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
