I once bought a tractor that had rotten front tires (standard turf type, 16-6.50-8) and the guy had bought some brand new sno-hogs in that size, so I popped them onto the rims.... this was to be strictly a snow machine. V bar tread in back (Carlisle Tru power's)

Tri rib fronts on a narrow wheel. 4 rib on a wide wheel. No matter what you're doing a wide wheel will work and still 'look cool.' IMO rears, Firestone AGS. I know they are more expensive than Tru powers but the tread pattern is better.

If you plan to mow with this and you have a nice lawn, I would not go with the tri rib. If you don't mind chewing your grass up on the turns, go for it, but I have the tri rib and when I cut corners, it will eat my lawn a bit. I have bermuda and doesn't like agressive tires, especially not on a heavy outfit like these NF. I would especially not get the ags on the rear if you are mowing with it. I am planning to plow and garden with mine so I went with the ags on the rear. I just like the look of the narrow front tires, so I went with those. If I was going with your set up and was mowing, I would for sure get a wide tire and would get more of a turf tire, but that is just my .02

Snow removal skinnies work best. Mowing wide keeps the lawn looking good.

Wide tires make the steering more difficult....

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
