149 Hydraulic lift on 1250
I know that both the 149 and 1250 are wide frames. I have a line on a 149 locally that is in good shape that has the hyd lift. If I do decide to buy it, can I swap the lift parts onto the 1250 if I decide to go that route?? (or just use the 149 as the snow machine and the 1250 for mower duty...)
I really don't want another machine as I currently have my 4Runner on jack stands in the garage with two sleds in there as well. But I'd rather buy another tractor than try to piece it together on Ebay which would probably cost as much as another machine. I just want to make sure that if I go the swap route that the ported pump would fit on top of the hydro in the 1250 and that the rest of the parts should drop in as well. I'm new to the lift stuff, so bear with me as I learn from you guys. Thanks...

I think if it was me and the 149 is nice I would just keep the 149, or both.

Most of the parts are the same but some are not.
Look up the exploded views of each machine and check out the differences.

149's are awesome with the hydraulic lift. I much prefer them for work duty and use the 1250 for mowing.
Got my old 149 out today and graded up a bunch of old hickory nut shells and stuff into a nice burn pile, then I graded the driveway and filled in a few holes in the drive before they got worse.

Sounds kinda funny to a guy like me up north....grading the driveway and burning the pile in December, that is...but after the seven feet of snow, it got warm, melted and rained. But winter is back with a vengeance now. Appreciate the input guys. I just love these old Cubs over anything new made today...Yes, I would love to get another machine for sure...just have to convince the wife first..

Not trying to step on DWayne's toes, but in my opinion there are not as many expensive, delicate parts to worry about breaking or wearing out, therefore I feel like I can make my Wide Frames work harder than my Quiet Line.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
