Default Won't start
I got my motor back together today, and now it won't start and gas is running out of the velocity stack. I was wondering if valve lash could possibly be part of the problem? It's had a cheater can put in, .30 over piston, new springs, ported and polished, a valve job, and added a crank trigger?

Could be.

Might fix the float problem in the carb first though, so the gas stops running out of it.


What's a cheater "can"?

I would also check the timing. I had a 12 hp I could not get to run. I ended pulling engine think the timing from the crank to the cam was off. All it ended up being was the points.

He has electronic ignition on it....... But that is a possibility.

I've never had the crank trigger but assumed you still had to time it when to fire.

Gas running out the V-stack is most of the issue in this case. In my opinion.
