I am currently in the process of restoring a model 72. Most of it has been powder coated with "Safety Yellow". I do not know the the number of it. The color is just slightly lighter than the CaseIH Irongard Federal Yellow. The whit and "chrome" have also been powder coated. Once I finish repairing the transmission, it and the engine will wet painted with the powder's equivalent.

The chassis and cast front piece have been coated as well. The powder has somewhat smoothed the roughness of the cast grill. I am very pleased with the process so far. Member "Olds45512" is an excellent bodyman who also does powder coating.

Beth, you need to find out what brand and color powder he's using so I can order some in because I would like to do a test panel to see exactly how close the color is. I can get powder custom made so it would match perfect but it's a little pricey since you have to order a 50lb minimum.

Tim, I will get the numbers for the yellow and the white. I need them for my records.

Tim, how do you store the powder to keep it usable for the maximum time. Does powder have a shelf life?

The shelf life is 6-12 months but keeping it cool helps it keep longer, I store mine in a refrigerator.

I would think powder has an infinite shelf life in a vacuum?

I sure hope that stuff sticks better for you guys than it does for most manufacturers that use it, Like CCC decks etc.
Recently purchased some truck camper tie down equipment and after 1 year, it needed repainting while the 3 year old paint on the truck frame still has a shine to it.
Also my seldom used 2011 GTXLE deck is flaking off chunks of the stuff as well as my neighbor's farm store garden cart.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
