Question Cub Cadet 71 axles

I've been poking around on Parts Tree, looking up numbers and what not so I can start gathering parts for my 71 restoration. I noticed the bushings in the rear axles of my 71 are of course NLA, so I figured I'd swap in the axles from my 125 parts machine to upgrade to a actual bearing. From what I'm seeing on parts tree, is the axle "tubes" are the same part number, which leads me to believe all I have to do is replace the bushings with the bearings. The axles themselves have a very similar part number. Anybody with any knowledge on doing this swap?

Or, am I just looking at this at the wrong angle here?

The Axles are different.

Here are three places to get replacement bushings.

McMaster-Carr - Part Number 3741K19

WW Grainger - Part Number 13T744

Pretty sure I read somewhere you could use both the axles and tubes from a 1x3/1x4/1x5, which all had bearings, but you had to use both the tubes and axles together. The axles from the later NF were hardened where the bearings rode on them. If you used the 71 axles with the tubes that have bearings, or had the tubes machined to use bearings, the axles would wear as the bearings are hard and would wear axles that were originally used with bushings. So no mixing and matching of axles and tubes, but use what was together originally. Hopefully this is correct.

I have a 123 axle and tube set I am planning on using on a 71, to upgrade the worn bushings to bearings.

Thank you. I knew it couldn't be that easy. I think I am still going to upgrade to bearings simply because I have the stuff just laying around. And hey a upgrade is a upgrade!

Also thank you for the parts information I will be saving that for a later date

That would explain the one digit difference in the part number. Thank you
