My snap ring is against the bearing, inside the seal.
The bearing is very smooth, seams to be in great shape.

Nice and dry so far. I filled it back up with fluid from tractor supply. Much cheaper and it filled much quicker with a vent in the case. Mowed for 30 minutes, parked for 2 hours. Dry. Mowed for another 30 minutes, parked for 2 hours and still dry. Looking good so far.

When I fall down on the floor, I think, is there something I can do while I'm down here?

I taught my son where and what all of our tools are. Once I'm on the floor I'm there for a while and just make sure my boy is close enough to hear me call out what I need.

The seals popped out? That's weird. I didn't think there was any pressure inside that case, everything is just splash lubed. There isn't anything inside to build pressure is there? I know there's a pump that pulls the fluid in to do it's thing, but is there pressure inside that case from it?

Hey... physics lesson. When the oil and metal heat up, the air inside expands. If the vent is plugged, it causes pressure......

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
