Yep, Southern Appalachian, quite different from what we speak here in the Piedmont. But I understood every word.

Got a new kid at work from PA, he seems to think every syllable must be articulated clearly with proper enunciation. Yeah, roll it all together with some Southern "sayings" and we might as well be speaking Martian.

It's funny, I was born and raised in SE mi. not far from DEEtroit.
Got out of High school 2 days, and went to work in Ypsilanti not far from Willow run Airport where the B-24 bombers were built for the war (WWII for the young ones here).
Well a lot of the fellows there were from Tennessee/Kentucky and surrounding states.
At first they would make fun of this yankee kid with pimples on his face who didn't know a plug from a poke.
Then one by one they took me under their wing and taught me the trade
After 40 years with lifelong friends, I also learned the language.
Mother would ask me why I "talked funny" as she didn't teach me to talk like that.
I take it as a compliment when someone asks me what part of Ky or Tn. I'm from.
So many men/woman of all ages and such diverse backgrounds came to make their fortunes in "Ypsituckky",building first planes, and later cars/transmissions and associated parts for America.
Sadly the "arsenal of democracy" is all gone, and only cement slabs and foundations remain.

Yes we do have allsorts up here but it's hardly a seller. While I get the joke, I thought it would be better the joke originate from Japan. Man, that candy kind of look like sushi.

Dad hailed from Altoona and mom from Pittsburg, both called it "pop"
My Sister and I were told it was not good for us, so we drank very little.

Soda can be good for you, at times! If you eat a fatty meal, the soda will actually start breaking down the fat and dissolving it, whereas the plastic water people should put some of that fat in water and see what happens.
