Thanks very much
i will be checking it out today. it is leaking, in multiple places so we would like to replace the seals etc in the parts pictured. from there the plan is to do an engine and tranny rebuild and we need the clutch spring? that was the original problem, it broke and the clutch would no longer work. again sorry for the longer pauses, as we got back from our trip summer kind of took over and I travel for work. we are also separated right now so i do not live there and so then having to schedule and plan everything comes into play anyway, just wanted all the great helpers here to know it hasnt been abandoned thanks! |

It's ok well all get busy with life and other things! I'll be honest my 1200 leaks some in the rear, but it is 38 years young! It's very small leak and I'd never had to add oil it. I did change it when I painted it and it looked clean. If it was mine unless it's leaking a lot I'd let it lie. Who knows how many cans of worms you may open up!

I replaced the seals and gaskets in the axles of my 1000 a few years ago. You can see pictures here: http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=35601. You'll see why some people put lug studs on their tractors after you r&r the wheels.
Nice 1200 BTW. My 1000 was given to me by family friends in Illinois. I grew up on that tractor. I also have a 1450 that I bought as a basket case and rebuilt. It is my tiller and now sees light duty. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
