Default Just bought a 129. Need tires.

We just bought our first Cub last week. It's a 129, and is in fairly good shape, but does need some work. We're still in that "getting to know you...getting to know all about you" phase. It does look like we will need to get some new tires for it. Any ideas of the best place to get tires? Also, we noticed that the front tires had a slight amount of "toe in" on them. Is that normal? Oh, we have so much to learn.

TSC stores have decent, for the money, front tires. Size is 16x6.50-8. They are "Hi-Run" Chinese stuff but will do the job.

It should be bow legged and pigeon toed.
The toe-in should be 1/8" to a 1/4" closer in front than in back, and the camber should be positive,-- IE:
Top of the tire tilted out more than bottom of it quit a bit, and both L & R side should look to be an equal tilt.

I'll check to see how they measure out, but they do seem to have an equal tilt. Thanks!

Are you looking for front tires or rear or both? Do you want turf tires or Ag tires? Carlisle Tru Powers are popular for the rear and the front will depend on wide or narrow rims.

The last set of rear tires I bought were Carlisle Tru Powers from Summit Racing. They had the best price I could find, the shipping was free and I got them quickly.

Ive been talking this over with the wife for over a year or more, but the style that catches my eye the most are the Firestone Flotation 23 x 10.5 x 12 . They will run on my 1450 I'm building up. Check them out at m.e miller tire.com !

Ha!

Absolutely! But there's a catch,.... she don't get diamonds if I can't get what I want, lol! So now I've got this figured out! Knew there must be some way to get what I want for this 1450!

I'll have them shortly, this year or Rolland can boot me off of OCC!

A lot of great suggestions for tires

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
