Default Front wheel bushings

I posted this in another area of this site with no response. I apologize for duplicating it. If there is a way to delete the other please let me know.

Hello, I have a LTX1050 VT
Just noticed the front wheels are both wobbling around The large part of one of the bushings is gone on one side and the other is worn out.
Is there an upgrade wheel with real bearings available or just a bronze or similar replacement for the factory plastic bushing? I bought this used with only forty hours on it and it is a very clean machine, I will be curious to see how long a new set of plastic bushings last once they are replaced.
Thanks for your interest and or replies.

www.partstree.com does show the original ones still avail.
Or you could try as sam suggested, an oillite bushing of the appropriate size.
They do show a "bearing with fitting"---- possibly it is an upgrade? from partstree.

One of my MTD mowers uses the same plastic bearings. They don't cost much.

Double check the part numbers using your 13xxxxxxxxx model number. Then Google the part number for the lowest price. If their greased they should last longer than 40 hours.

I had a similar situation with my SLT-1554 it seemed anytime I'd lift the front for any reason the front wheels wobbled around like they are on a full independent suspension system even though I was regularly greasing them. I replaced those front bushings several times and about two years ago now I replaced the front left and right axle assemblies and the bushings again. Last year I ordered 2 of the McMaster-Carr needle bearings (5905K123). They worked reasonably well and would have probably worked great if my one year old axle assemblies hadn’t already worn quite a bit and as a even bigger surprise the hole in the center of the rim had also worn some making the bearing fit less than perfect. If your axle assemblies and rims don’t have significant wear then I would recommend a set of bearing. I have been running mine for about a year now and have pulled them back out once to check and they seem to be doing ok. If there wasn’t any wear on my parts where the bearings fit as intended then I would feel really good about my upgrade. Understand that I only did one side of my mower because I wasn’t sure how well it would work. After cutting the back bushing off where there was maybe 1/16 inch left to fit inside the rim I installed one bearing to fit near the back of the rim, used part of the old bushing as a spacer inside the rim then installed the other bearing then installed the outer most part of the old outside bushing again leaving about 1/16 inch of the old bushing to fit inside the rim to help keep the bearings in place and hopefully help keep dirt out. It sounds somewhat jury-rigged I’m sure but it has worked for a year now. I just wish I had done it years ago when the mower was new. My mower is a 2006 and has 650 hours on it. Sorry for the long post but I hope this info can help out somehow.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
