thanks all for the compliments. It does feel good to finally see a little bit of it coming together. I didn't get much done tonight, even though there's plenty to get done yet. I did pick up my engine/clutch adapter and my front pedestal should be done in a day or so. I've got a bunch of parts on order that should be here in a couple of day's. snow's melting fast, crunch time is coming!!

If you get a second can you post some pics of the clutch adapter?

This appears to be one well thought out, well executed build.

here you go sam, it's not anything special but necessary to mount the clutch driver to the mount that came on the engine from the 1641. it is .5" thick and drilled to match the mounting pattern on the clutch driver.

clutch driver and "adapter"

driver and adapter put together

mount that came on the engine from the 1641

Wow that is a cool rear lift. Excellent work. Now turn some dirt and let us drool on the screens some more!

Hey can anyone recommend a good seat that'll look good on this? I would prefer it had the cub bolt pattern. Thanks

hey guy's I've been slow on the updates and almost as slow on the work. I finally got my front axle parts, and inside wheel weights from the machinist. which let me get the front tires on along with some cosmetics. I got a little paint sprayed and decided to take a couple more pics. I tried mounting up all of my rear weight's but bought some crap carriage bolts from tsc and snapped three of eight bolt heads off. my new seat showed up today so that'll be going on tomorrow after I pick up a load of piglets. I need to get the front weight bar done up quick. i'm hoping to be turning some dirt real soon if I can figure out the wiring for this engine!!! oh here's some pics, don't mind the dust!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
