Might have to swap it to the other side when installing a hydro lift on a 70/100. That accessory didn’t come out until later, right?

Shouldn't matter. The 1X2/3 and 1X4/5, series all had the PTO lever on the right side. The 1X6/7 still had the control rod on the right, and the hydraulic unit fits all them without mods to the PTO control. (I know you are familiar with those tractors, I'm just sayin.)

A member in North Carolina or near there had a 100 with a rotary broom mounted to it. I believe the PTO lever was on the left side on that too. I cannot remember his name.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
