Nice!

When you say 3 years "piddling" with it, I assume that's when you fixed it up "purdy"?

And I kind of agree with you about this. These new pick up's are way over priced. All I'm looking for is a new truck, 4x4, short bed, regular cab and instead all I get sold on is the 4-door crap.
A known fact is that a IH Cub Cadet model 1650 had a list price of $3, 120.00 in what, 1974? And yet people are amazed when I suggest to them, a person could have bought a new "economy" car back then. I bet the new XT3-GSX would blow the doors off a old, whooped-as*'ed JD 318 in the mowing field, and if I wanted to spend the cash to get the new Cub, I'd prove it!

Edit: Jon, don't go away mad! I know the 318 JD is a better built GT, and proven. Pretty much you got a better product then. My 1982 F100 is proof. I also owned a 72' F100 among a lot of great trucks. Ok, now,... I don't know of a GT today that is so priced that one could come near, or purchase a new car or truck as did back in the 70's. What most people forget, is that the all mighty Dollar was prolly worth a $1.25 back then, as now it's worth might be like .45$ .

Amen to that! What I would say is that today, in a dollar sense, I probably have ten times the amount of money and other assets that I had back then. But when I look around I don't really have ten times what I had back then.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
