I had the EXACT same problem on my 107, not just two days ago. Everything came off great except for the neutral return shaft pin. I soaked it in penetrating oil for a few and was able to pry it up just enough to get vice grips on it. Once I got those on there, it was a matter of twisting it back and forth to free it and out it came. I'm going to shine it up with emery cloth and anti-seize it up for reassembly.

Haha so you know exactly what I'm talking about! I wanted to do it as you described but the head of the bolt wouldn't budge. Ended up bending the "fork" part. I honestly don't know how I wouldve done it without drilling a hole. Spent 2 evenings trying...

Last time I had a relief valve freeze up on me like that, I soaked the top in PB Blaster and occasionally would try to press it down with a wooden wood (got that from my Uncle Lewy) chop stick, then repeat the soaking. When I say soaking, I mean I would spray the top (wear protective eye wear as it may spray back toward you) button, let it sit for a moment and then try the chop stick. Eventually, mine sprung back to life. Then work it several times until you are sure it won't freeze up again and re-install.

On the opposite end of the push button there is a small hole. I use a flat end ejector pin and push it up through the hole and that will push up the button on the top end. You can work it back and forth. If rust or a weak spring don’t allow the button to return then it’s time for replacements or rebuild. But these type of narrow frame require more patience working on them. Maybe try a small Phillip screwdriver to plunge with. Might want to grind a flat end on it first to try to prevent scoring up the relief ball inside there.

OK thank you. I didn't want to just start pushing and prying on things. I'm pretty upset with what I had to do to split the tractor. I don't like doing things that way. But that sucker was stuck.

Finally got it back in one piece lol. When replacing the springs for the speed selector/shifter there were some notches worn in the cam plate. I buggered some washers to take up the slack. I think it will work a lot better now. Just need to hook up linkages underneath, top off fluid and see what happens. I'll be changing the front tires tomorrow as well.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
