Or a link so one of us could buy it. It’s worth more than $1200. By quite aways.

Yeah, I'm going to take a look at the 2182 with the deck. Especially since the guy offered to deliver and my trailer won't fit the 60" deck unless I take it off the tractor! I don't really need it, but who doesn't need an extra 2182 just in case? Then probably look at the lt2138 to use for mowing the yard at the house. If I take the second 2182 up north, I could park it in another garage I have up there, and the wife probably wouldn't ever realize there were two of them! Not like she goes in one garage, then the second garage...

I will say I really like my 3000 series for mowing, it's the best Cub tractor I've mowed with, it cuts really nice. I have the 48" deck but there was a 42" deck available. The power steering, hydraulic lift and foot controls are great for mowing. My wife even likes to use it.

The market pricing on them makes one a great deal too.

It seems to do everything very well, it is great for snow removal too, it pushes a 54" blade no problem and the snow blower is really nice.

Great bang for the buck IMHO. I'd stay away from the B&S engine if possible however.

I've found a few that have under 100 hours, and things like "replaced main oil seals by dealer" or "motor smokes some". WTH? Are these newer engines really that crappy or people just beating the crap out of them?

I did find a 2138 that might actually be made a little better, but a 13hp engine? Man that seems small.

Too much to read through. Going to participate and give my advice.

I'd like to say that I have a model 125 that apparently swung a IH 48" mower deck all it's life, and that must have been quite a task for the Kohler K 301 12hp, but the engine lived up to it!

If your looking for a IH 38" deck, then I'd bet the farm a Kohler 12hp would preform! Spend a few bucks having the engine rebuilt by someone who knows exactly what the hell they are doing, and your GOLD!

Also, I had a Cadet 111. That little sucker with it's Briggs 11 hp really cut strong, all I can say is WOW!, what a little peppy lawn tractor for a 1979! Prolly would keep up mowing duties with a 782 with ease.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
