Today I finally installed the oil pressure gauge. Went with a mechanical one. Sorry for the picture quality.

I was able to use a "T" fitting to keep the oil sentry and add the pressure gauge to the same spot. Tight fit but it works great!

And here's a pic of us getting to work hauling dirt for the firepit.

Haven't read all through this yet, but hit the high points. Thanks for posting. I recently picked up an 1872, had a 682 but the motor went kaput. Got me thinking, maybe I will put the 18hp motor from the 1872 into the 682 & go the fuel injected route like you..... hmmmm.......

IIRC, someone on here used a gas tank from a 1210 or 1641 (guessing here, can't remember exact model #) in a diesel. Had to add a return line hole in it and such, but it worked??
Know anyone with a TIG welder? Have one made from aluminum. Design it to fit the area you want to put it, weld on the AN fittings for feed & return. Tough part might be finding a threaded area for fill.

Quick search found this:

I've had a few questions on the EFI wiring as of late. Kohler has a great basic wiring guide for their engine, mine happened to come with it. SEW has it posted in pdf form as well, link is below.

As for an update on the tractor, it's been great! Hardly a winter here in Michigan so the snowblower was only used twice. Just took it off last week and getting ready for spring work.

Jason, thanks for sending me the link to the install manual. It now makes sense on hooking wiring for the engine to the tractor harness. I just have to get the correct Ignition switch and a couple of diodes for the pto clutch and starter solenoid. I really appreciate the help you gave me on my up coming EFI install. When I start on it I will start a new thread. In case anyone is interested I also will be building and upgrading a 1872 with a Kohler Command Pro 28 HP EFI engine.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
