Moving your front axle forward will help as well, but might be quite a bit of work.

finished my counter weights today, I estimate I've added about 425 lbs.

also got some new rear tires, and am ready to test-drive again carrying an engine.

Looks like you have the ballast pretty well figured out.

when I swapped to a "scooter" axle I moved it about 1" forward.

the weight seems to be enough, but I have an issue with it dragging (and stopping me) when I drive up/down my trailer.

also the hydraulics are a little unpredictable. nd I don't think its air, I plan to put another cylinder to make boom telescoping (in/out) next I will try to figure out then....

I'm a fan. It does exactly what you intended it to do. Looks to steer super easy as well. And that Dana 60 front is no joke but the bigger question is what's it going in? (please say a jeep)

Sorry not going in a Jeep, I picked up for a good price and resold them.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
